The recent changes to House Bill 182 expand the focus from just reading to include overall literacy and biliteracy, which means it now encompasses writing and spelling as well. Additionally, the language emphasizes the importance of these skills being culturally and linguistically relevant to each student. This matters because it aims to create a more inclusive educational approach that recognizes and supports the diverse backgrounds of all students, enhancing their learning experience and outcomes.
