Plain-language change summary

The updated version of HB 308 introduces several important changes aimed at improving dental health care. It establishes the profession of dental therapists, ensuring that there are more qualified professionals available to provide dental care. Additionally, the bill now requires students to either obtain dental examinations or opt out before enrolling in school, which can help identify and address dental health issues early on. This legislation also includes provisions for reimbursement of dental therapy services and mandates a study on the impact of dental therapy practice in the state, which will enhance overall access to dental care.
