The updated version of Bill SB 413 adds pears to the definition of "cider" and increases the maximum alcohol content allowed for cider. It also revises the definition of "microbrewer" and changes the liquor excise tax rates. These changes are important as they broaden the products that can be classified under these categories, potentially supporting local producers and giving consumers more options. Additionally, clearer definitions and updated tax rates can help streamline regulations for craft beverage producers.
