Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 302 include changes to the individual income tax rates and the timeframe for these changes to take effect. Notably, the tax brackets have been adjusted, and the effective date for the new rates is now January 1, 2019, instead of an earlier date. These updates matter because they aim to create a fairer tax structure, especially for lower-income individuals, ensuring that the tax burden is more proportional to income levels.
