The recent amendments to Bill SB 27 include the addition of four new definitions and changes to existing definitions, making the language more organized and clear. Importantly, the bill now requires manufacturers to compensate dealers for repairs to vehicles that are under recall or other orders, and they must also supply necessary parts for these repairs. This matters because it holds manufacturers accountable for supporting dealers and ensures that vehicles under safety orders can be repaired more efficiently, ultimately protecting consumers and promoting vehicle safety.
