The amendments to Bill HB 98 introduce a new Local Election Act, which establishes a single election day and uniform voting procedures for local elections. It specifies that certain ballot measures held outside of regular local elections must be conducted by mail, and it requires statewide ballot question elections to also use mail-in voting. Additionally, the bill prohibits advisory questions on ballots to streamline the election process. These changes are significant because they aim to simplify and standardize local election procedures, potentially making the voting process more accessible and efficient for residents.
