Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 170 expanded the list of eligible projects that the New Mexico Finance Authority can fund through loans or grants from the water project fund. The bill now includes specific flood prevention projects for various villages and cities, as well as water conservation and treatment efforts in additional locations. This is important because it enables more communities in New Mexico to receive financial support for vital water management initiatives, helping to address water scarcity and promote public safety in the face of flooding risks.
