This bill died with 2017 Special Session. It reached “To Executive” and never advanced before the session ended, so it can no longer move — a new version would have to be reintroduced in the current session.
This bill is no longer active — its legislative session has ended, so there is no live prognosis. It would have to be reintroduced in the current session to move again.

The latest version of SB 2 includes a significant change: it removes the provision that set a loading fee for petroleum products at $150. Instead, it now introduces a weight distance tax identification permit tax, with the revenue aimed at supporting the tax stabilization reserve until state reserve funds reach five percent. This change is important because it shifts the focus away from a specific fee to a broader tax mechanism, which could provide more sustainable funding for transportation infrastructure and state reserves. These adjustments may ultimately help maintain and improve the state's road infrastructure and fiscal stability.
