The latest version of Bill SB 3050 has increased the budget allocation for the agency for Fiscal Year 2024 from approximately $5.8 million to about $6.3 million. Additionally, it specifies that the funds allocated for certain vacant positions can only be used to hire new employees, rather than for raises or changes in titles for current staff. These changes are significant because they ensure that the agency can fill critical vacancies while maintaining salary standards set by the State Personnel Board, ultimately aiming to improve workforce productivity without inflating current employee costs.
