The recent amendment to Bill HB 844 includes a provision to extend the availability of grant funds under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for workforce development until December 31, 2026, or later if federal deadlines allow. This change emphasizes that grant recipients must ensure project completion by the deadline or seek other funding if necessary. The addition is important because it secures continued financial support for workforce initiatives, helping to strengthen job programs and economic recovery efforts in Mississippi.
