Plain-language change summary

The revised version of Bill SB 2239 changes the context of who can use their official uniform, firearm, and vehicle for private security work. Instead of specifically being for Mississippi Highway Patrol officers, it now allows officers from the broader Department of Public Safety to do the same. This change is significant because it expands the ability of law enforcement personnel to engage in private security services while maintaining their official identity, with oversight to ensure it doesn't negatively affect public perception of law enforcement.
