Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 3032 increase the funding for an agency’s budget for Fiscal Year 2024 from approximately $3.88 million to about $4.22 million. This change is significant because it allows the agency to fill approved vacancies, ensuring that it can hire more staff rather than just adjust salaries for current employees. Additionally, the amendments clarify that all employee salaries must meet the minimum established by the Mississippi State Personnel Board. This aims to improve hiring practices and overall agency operations, making it more effective in delivering services.
