The updated version of Bill HB 1619 has increased the funding for the agency's budget from approximately $2.7 million to about $7.8 million and added more full-time permanent positions, going from 32 to 34. These changes are significant because they provide the agency with more resources to hire staff and fill positions, ensuring that it can function effectively and meet its operational needs. Additionally, the amendment emphasizes that the new funds should strictly be used to increase headcount rather than for raises or promotions of existing employees, promoting accountability in how the funds are allocated.
