In the revised version of Bill SB 2247, the definition of "first responder" has changed to exclude firefighters and law enforcement officers, focusing only on paramedics and emergency medical technicians. This change matters because it narrows the scope of who is considered a first responder in the context of the bill, potentially impacting the roles and responsibilities of those who respond to emergencies in relation to schools. Additionally, the rest of the definitions related to schools and loitering remain unchanged, ensuring clarity around terms that may be pertinent to the bill's enforcement.
