The recent changes to Bill HB 1663 included an increase in funding for the ACE Fund from $20 million to $50 million, while also removing provisions for the Mississippi Main Street Investment Grant Fund. This matters because the larger allocation to the ACE Fund could mean more financial resources for economic development initiatives, while the removal of the Main Street funding might limit support for community revitalization projects. Overall, these adjustments reflect a shift in focus towards bolstering business incentives.
