The updated version of Bill SB 2769 adds an exemption from property taxation for federally qualified health centers in Mississippi, while removing a previously included clause about a certain foundation. This change is significant because it aims to provide financial relief to health centers, which can help improve access to healthcare services in the community. By exempting these centers from ad valorem taxation, they can allocate more resources towards patient care and community health initiatives.
