What changed in the latest version

The recent amendments to SB 678 introduced a focus on the FutureGen Project, a significant initiative aimed at capturing and storing carbon emissions from coal power plants in Illinois. The changes emphasize the project's potential benefits for both the economy and the environment while offering the FutureGen Alliance regulatory support to aid its development and attract federal funding. Additionally, the section regarding the Nursing Home Care Act was removed, which previously mandated long-term care facilities to provide information on reporting fraud and neglect. This change suggests a shift in focus away from nursing home regulations within this bill, which may impact the oversight and accountability mechanisms for these facilities.
