The bill HB 976 has been amended to clarify that hospitals seeking a license must "seek and use their best efforts to maintain" certification under federal programs, which is a slight change from the previous wording that simply required them to "seek and maintain" certification. This change emphasizes the need for hospitals to actively strive for compliance with federal standards, which could enhance the quality of care provided and ensure that hospitals are held accountable for adhering to important health guidelines. Overall, this matters because it reinforces the commitment to quality healthcare and federal health program requirements.
