Plain-language change summary

The revised version of SB 1370 changes how voter registration is handled at driver services facilities. Specifically, it now clearly states that individuals applying for a driver’s license or state ID will be asked if they want to register to vote, and if they do, they will need to fill out a registration application. This is important because it emphasizes personal responsibility for eligibility and ensures that voter registration applications are properly processed and forwarded to local election authorities, potentially increasing voter participation.
