Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Bill SB 369 primarily focus on clarifying provisions related to pension calculations for members of the Illinois General Assembly. Specifically, it outlines how the highest salary for annuity purposes will be determined for participants based on their roles and compensation at the time of their service. These adjustments are important because they ensure that pension benefits are calculated fairly and transparently for legislators, which helps in maintaining public trust in the pension system. Additionally, some technical language was removed from the Secretary of State Act, streamlining how public acts and laws are recorded and maintained.
