Plain-language change summary

The amendment to HB 4698 clarifies that sellers cannot send consumers regular shipments of similar merchandise unless the consumer explicitly agrees to this arrangement. Previously, the bill referred to enrolling consumers in a "club," which could imply broader practices that might confuse or mislead shoppers. This change matters because it strengthens consumer protection by ensuring consumers have clear choices and consent regarding any periodic shipments, reducing the likelihood of unexpected charges.
