What changed in the latest version
8 added · 22 removedPlain-language change summary
The revised version of Bill HB 5 now clarifies that certain types of compensation related to lobbying activities will not be covered by its prohibitions. Specifically, it removes language that previously exempted full-time State employees from the restrictions on accepting compensation for lobbying legislative actions, but it adds a definition of "State agency" based on an existing law. This change is important because it specifies which individuals and organizations are subject to these lobbying rules, helping to prevent potential conflicts of interest while ensuring transparency in government affairs.
