Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 377 introduces a new section allowing the State to sell debts deemed uncollectible, specifically those under $1,000, to private vendors. This change is significant because it enables the state to recover some revenue from debts that would otherwise remain unpaid, with the funds generated going to the General Revenue Fund. Additionally, the bill has removed several sections related to election procedures, focusing more on financial management rather than electoral processes. This shift reflects a prioritization of state fiscal strategies over electoral regulations.
