The amended version of Bill HB 4982 includes a change that allows the Secretary of State to suspend a person's driving privileges if they have not paid fines related to certain traffic violations. Specifically, if a person has 10 or more outstanding fines for local parking regulations or 5 fines for automated traffic violations, their driving license can be suspended. This change is significant because it aims to encourage timely payments and compliance with traffic laws, potentially reducing the number of unsafe drivers on the road.
