Plain-language change summary

The amendments to SB 89 broaden the types of facilities eligible for real property tax assessment settlement agreements. Specifically, they now include properties used for natural gas extraction and fractionation, as well as olefin and polymer manufacturing, and allow for litigation status to be considered if it was pending as of January 1, 2003. This change matters because it provides more property owners in smaller counties with an avenue to resolve tax disputes, potentially resulting in financial relief and clearer regulations regarding their tax assessments.
