The recent amendments to Bill SB 3198 clarify the process for issuing orders when a person in a correctional facility goes missing without permission. It specifies that these orders must be certified by certain officials within the Department of Corrections and outlines who they should be directed to. This change is important because it establishes clearer procedures for law enforcement, making it easier to apprehend individuals who are not following their assigned programs or facilities.
