Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to SB 735 includes changes in Section 27 concerning privilege taxes and their deadlines for payment related to horse racing. Specifically, the amendment maintains the requirement for a 2% tax on daily pari-mutuel handles and a 1.25% tax on multiple wagers, with all associated funds due within 48 hours of the racing day's end. This clarification establishes a clear financial obligation for licensees and ensures timely collection of taxes, which is important for state revenue. Additionally, the removal of outdated language regarding the timeline of these provisions signals the bill's alignment with current fiscal practices.
