Plain-language change summary

The amendment to SB 730 introduces a new provision that automatically suspends a medical professional's license or permit when they are charged with a violent or sexual felony against a patient, particularly if the patient is under 18 or over 65. This change ensures that alleged offenders cannot continue to practice while facing serious charges, providing better protection for vulnerable patients and maintaining public trust in the medical profession. Additionally, the process requires prompt notification and a hearing within 15 days, which helps ensure that cases are addressed quickly and fairly.
