Plain-language change summary

The latest version of SB 52 adds a section that promotes building a clean coal synthetic natural gas (SNG) facility in Illinois. This facility is expected to produce a significant annual output of natural gas and aims to stabilize energy prices for consumers. This amendment is important because it could lead to enhanced energy security and stability in the state's energy market. In contrast, original sections concerning the investment powers of the State Treasurer were removed, simplifying the focus of the bill on energy production.
