The legislation has been updated to include Kane, Peoria, and Will counties in the predatory lending database program, expanding its scope beyond just Cook County. The expansion will begin on July 1, 2010, allowing more areas to participate in tracking and addressing predatory lending practices. This change is significant because it aims to protect more residents from predatory lending, thereby fostering a safer borrowing environment across additional counties.
