What changed in the latest version
367 added · 384 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of SB 88 now specifies that if a person who identifies as a surviving spouse claims a grant, only their individual income will be considered for eligibility, rather than their household income. This change aims to provide more financial assistance to individuals who have lost a partner, ensuring that they do not face unfair limitations based on their overall household income. It is significant because it could help improve the financial well-being of surviving spouses by making it easier for them to qualify for grants and support.
