Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill SB 725 add more specific requirements for the grants provided to local water improvement groups. Now, projects must focus on removing certain fish species and introducing others to improve water quality, and there is a competitive application process to prioritize these projects. This change is important because it seeks to ensure that the funded projects are not only targeted but also backed by comprehensive studies, which could lead to more effective water quality improvement efforts in Wisconsin's lakes and impoundments.
