Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill SB 624 clarifies that assessors cannot change a property's assessed value based only on its recent sale unless the adjustment corrects earlier mistakes about the property's characteristics. Additionally, it removes the requirement for assessors to provide specific notice to property owners outlining this prohibition. This change matters because it simplifies the assessment process, ensuring that changes in property values are based on accurate and comparable data rather than singular sales, which helps maintain fair property tax assessments.
