The amendments to Senate Bill 710 include delaying the elimination of a grant program that helps homeowners replace or repair failing septic systems until June 30, 2023, instead of 2021. Additionally, the bill now requires a study to be conducted on managing septage, aiming to reduce risks of water contamination in the state. These changes are important because they provide continued financial support for residents dealing with septic issues and seek to improve environmental safety by examining how septage is handled.
