Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Senate Bill 741 change the requirements for how public notices are issued when a candidate fails to file for an election. The new version of the bill mandates that this information be posted on the Internet and, if time allows, in a local newspaper. Previously, it only required posting on the Internet or in three different physical locations if there was no website available. This change is important because it aims to enhance visibility and ensure that more people are informed about vacancies in elections, potentially increasing public engagement and participation.
