The amendments to Senate Bill 510 include the addition of a requirement for the Village of Plover to monitor and report the flow of the Little Plover River for the next two fiscal bienniums. This change is significant because it ensures that there will be regular oversight on the river's health, allowing the Department of Natural Resources and the state legislature to track the effectiveness of the wetland restoration efforts funded by the grant. By mandating this monitoring and reporting, the state aims to enhance transparency and accountability regarding environmental management in the area.
