Plain-language change summary

The updated version of SB 6566 aligns the update schedule for the comprehensive plan in Kitsap County with those of other counties in central Puget Sound, extending the timeline for necessary revisions to every ten years instead of eight. This change is significant because it allows Kitsap County more time to adapt to growth management requirements, ensuring that planning processes can be more thorough and reflective of local conditions. By syncing with neighboring counties, it also promotes regional consistency in planning efforts, facilitating easier collaboration and coordination among local governments.
