Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Senate Bill 369 includes a few key changes. First, the bill now specifies that the adjutant general must provide training to all local governments on using the federal System for Award Management (SAM.gov) to apply for emergency assistance. Additionally, the deadline for the adjutant general to issue payments to local governments has been extended from 14 days to 30 days after receiving federal funds. These changes are significant because they aim to ensure local governments receive timely support while also equipping them with the necessary tools to navigate federal assistance processes more effectively.
