Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill HB 2014 include the addition of specific provisions that align Virginia’s laws with the federal Family First Prevention Services Act. This means that foster care plans must now include more detailed guidelines on the services and support children receive as they transition to independent living. This shift is important because it ensures that children in the foster care system receive the necessary resources and protections to help them thrive, particularly as they move towards adulthood.
