Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Assembly Bill 804 changes how the crime of intimidating domestic abuse victims is penalized. Originally, the bill created a new Class G felony for this crime, making it more serious. However, the amendment introduced another section related to criminal trials for domestic abuse crimes, which may clarify the context in which this intimidation occurs. This matters because it aims to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have additional legal protection and that those who intimidate them face stronger penalties.
