The recent amendments to Assembly Bill 119 introduced changes that streamline the process for awarding grants to homeless shelters by clarifying eligibility criteria. The bill now specifies that the Department of Administration must first consider these criteria before granting additional funds, ensuring that the money is allocated effectively. This is important because it helps make sure that the support for homeless shelters is based on clear guidelines, potentially leading to better management of funds and services for those in need.
