Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill SB 670 clarify how legal documents (like summons and complaints) can be served to nonresident individuals or companies. The updated language simplifies the wording, making it clear that leaving the documents with the Secretary of State, along with the required fees, is an acceptable method of service. This change is important because it helps streamline the legal process for nonresidents, ensuring they can be properly notified about legal actions against them, even if they are not physically present in the state.
