Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to SB 1004 focuses on simplifying the existing legislation concerning health care payment estimates. This version removes references to an additional section (§ 54.1-2963.1) that pertained to the disclosure of medical treatment options, which was previously part of the bill. By narrowing the focus solely to § 32.1-137.05, the bill aims to streamline the process for providing patients with clear estimates of their potential health care costs, making it easier for individuals to make informed decisions about their medical care. This change is important because it enables more straightforward communication between healthcare providers and patients regarding financial responsibilities.
