The revised version of Bill SB 702 has made some important changes. Notably, it removes the requirement for body composition testing and the collection of body mass index data in schools. This matters because it shifts the focus away from weight-related assessments and allows school districts more flexibility to develop their own nutrition and exercise education programs. Additionally, districts can now apply for funding to support these initiatives, promoting healthier lifestyle education without the pressure of testing individual students.
