Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Bill HB 4406 now includes clearer guidelines about how long banks must keep records and clarifies that legal actions regarding account balances must occur within that time frame. Additionally, it specifies that banks have certain responsibilities regarding records that are kept past the designated retention period and allows exceptions for actions involving minors. These changes matter because they help protect both banks and customers by setting clear rules about record-keeping and legal rights, potentially reducing confusion in legal matters related to banking records.
