The amendments to Senate Bill 332 clarify the bill's provisions regarding the Wisconsin Sexual Assault Kit Tracking System. Specifically, the updated version now explicitly grants rule-making authority to establish regulations related to the tracking system, which is vital for ensuring proper oversight and implementation. These changes enhance the bill's effectiveness by providing clarity on how the system will operate and how involved parties, such as law enforcement and health care professionals, will interact with it. This matters because improved tracking of sexual assault kits can help victims stay informed and may contribute to better outcomes in sexual assault cases.
