Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Assembly Bill 121 makes some changes regarding the funding and administration of housing navigator grants. Specifically, it introduces an annual $300,000 appropriation to support Continuum of Care organizations in hiring housing navigators, helping people access housing resources. Additionally, it allows for the possibility of increasing this funding through the state budget process without needing to declare an emergency, making it easier to respond to housing needs. This matters because it may improve support for individuals struggling with housing issues, potentially leading to better outcomes in their search for stable housing.
