The bill HB 2149 has been amended to change the tax credit for donating edible agricultural products from 10% to 30% of their value. This increase makes it more beneficial for taxpayers to donate food, which could encourage more contributions to food banks and other organizations that support those in need. Additionally, the bill specifies how the tax credits will be allocated, ensuring that they are issued in the order donation forms are received. These changes are important as they aim to boost food donations and support agricultural producers while providing tax relief.
