Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 138 was amended to clarify what qualifies as an "eligible entity" for providing character education training and added a limit of $10,000 on grants that can be awarded to each school district per year. Additionally, it specified that a school district cannot apply for these grants if any of its employees are involved in another character education program at the time of applying. These changes are important because they help ensure that funding is directed to organizations that meet specific criteria, and they prevent overlap in training, making the best use of available resources for character education in schools.
