Plain-language change summary

The amendment to Bill AB 67 changes the timing of when the Department of Public Instruction must start reporting the percentage of students participating in music, dance, drama, and visual arts in schools. Instead of including this data immediately, the bill now specifies that it will begin with the accountability report for the 2020-21 school year. This matters because it gives schools and districts more time to gather accurate participation data before it is evaluated, ensuring that the information reflects their actual programs and student involvement.
